Raytheon to Enable Navy Aircraft to Launch Missiles on Max $83M Contract

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a contract worth up to $83 million with the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command to produce LAU-116B/A missile launchers.

The award includes a $7.3 million firm-fixed-price delivery order for production through December 2013 and two one-year options.

“These missile launchers are an important part of America’s military arsenal, ” said Wayne Iurillo, vice president of customized engineering and depot support for Raytheon’s technical services business. “They are reliable and cost-effective, and we take pride in meeting the Navy’s needs for this and other vital equipment on time and on budget.”

The launchers, which are used on Navy F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft, provide the structural and electrical interfaces that allow the aircraft to carry and launch missiles.
