Deloitte Wins Grant to Study Growing Aerospace Jobs in New England

Deloitte has won a $380, 000 federal grant from the Defense Department to assess how skilled jobs could be sustained in the aerospace manufacturing industry in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, following the termination of the F-22 fighter.

Furthermore Deloitte is being asked to estimate what could happen to jobs at those companies if the F-35 Joint Strike Program is scaled back or delayed.

Consultants will survey nearly 250 companies in the region in order to evaluate how to sustain aerospace companies and their skilled workers.

East Hartford, Conn.,  Mayor Marcia Leclerc urged her constituents to respond to the survey. “East Hartford, long the home of jet engine manufacturing and advanced technology, must do everything we can to ensure that aerospace and defense manufacturers and their highly-skilled workforce remain here and thrive, ” said Leclerc.
