Northrop Wins $30M Contract for Polar Satellite Microwave Technologies

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a $30 million contract to provide microwave equipment for a polar weather satellite.

The company will provide microwave temperature-sounding instruments used to forecast weather for the military and collect climate information.

NASA awarded the contract on behalf of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Northrop said contract work will run through 2017.
