Harris Wins $29M in Interoperable Radio Orders

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS)  has received $29 million in orders from the U.S. Air Force for Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios.

The radios will support network-enabled missions, such as precision air support.

“The radio enables users to communicate with other ground units as well as airborne platforms for enhanced air support and situational awareness, ” said Brendan O’Connell, president of Harris’ U.S. Defense Department business.” The AN/PRC-117G also provides the Air Force with wideband networking capabilities for emerging mission requirements.”

Harris said the wideband manpack radio system is the first receive the Defense Deparment’s joint tactical radio system program’s software communications architecture and NSA type-1 certification.
