General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) subsidiary Electric Boat has won a $174, 486, 588 U.S. Navy contract option.
The company will provide Virginia-class submarine lead-yard services, development studies and design.
Electric boat will provide all engineering services necessary to upgrade and support Virginia-class ship specifications.
Work is expected to be completed by September 2012. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
