GDIT Added to $45M IDIQ for Remotely Piloted Vehicles

General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) IT business unit has been added to a $45 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory.

The work will support all aspects the remotely-piloted vehicles and aircraft.

The company said it will develop new design methods to improve supply chain and manufacturing techniques on the five-year award worth up to $45 million.

GDIT will also provide program management, systems engineering and research and development services. It plans on hiring approximately 10 additional employees to support the contract.

Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded a $709.8M contract modification by Naval Air Systems Command to obtain materials needed for the low-rate initial production of additional F-35 jets for U.S. and foreign military sales customers. The modification funds material purchases for lot 15 through lot 17 aircraft of the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps as well as FMS and non-Department of Defense participants, DoD said Monday.
