BAE Awarded $47M to Upgrade USS Mason, Bainbridge, Philippine Sea

The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems’ ship repair businesses three contract modifications worth an estimated $52 million total.

  • A $17, 062, 566 modification to dry dock and upgrade USS Mason. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2012.
  • A $17, 013, 557 modification to dry dock and upgrade of USS Bainbridge. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by April 2012.
  • A $13, 315, 732 modification to BAE Systems’ Mayport business for dry dock and upgrade of USS Philippine Sea. Work will include hull, machinery, electrical, electronics and ship alterations work. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla., and is expected to be completed by June 2012.

Norfolk Ship Support Activity, Portsmouth, Va., is the contracting activity for USS Mason and USS Bainbridge.

Southeast Regional Maintenance Center, Jacksonville, Fla., is the contracting activity for USS Philippine Sea.
