SAIC to Develop Software for Air Force Mobility Command

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) has won a U.S. Air Force air mobility command task order to provide software sustainment and development services for AMC’s consolidated air mobility planning system.

SAIC will enable the effective planning and scheduling of mobility resources for airlift and tanker aircraft.

The company will also enable the system to provide a more integrated view of mobility requirements, resources and commitments.

The task order was awarded under the ENCORE II contract and is potentially worth over $19 million over one performance base year and five one-year options.

AMC provides global air mobility and airlift and aerial refueling for all of the U.S.’ armed forces. CAMPS is AMC’s command-and-control planning and scheduling system.

“SAIC has a long history of providing support to AMC and understands the important role information technology plays in executing the command’s ‘Global Reach’ mission, ” said Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.  “We look forward to helping AMC sustain and evolve CAMPS into a web-based architecture capable of meeting worldwide airlift and air refueling planning and scheduling needs.”
