Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has teamed with Israeli defense firm Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to market or improve several missile and weapon defense systems in the U.S. The systems include:
- Iron Dome, a rocket, artillery and mortar defense system
- David’s Sling, a close-range missile defense system
- Blue Sparrow, a mid-range missile defense target or simulator
“Iron Dome complements other Raytheon weapons that provide intercept capabilities to the U.S. Army‘s counter rocket, artillery and mortar initiative at forward operating bases, ” said Mike Booen, vice president of Raytheon’s advanced security and directed energy systems product line. “Iron Dome can be seamlessly integrated with Raytheon’s C-RAM systems to complete the layered defense.”
