Lockheed to Provide Navy with Submarine Imaging Systems

Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) maritime systems and sensors business unit will provide the U.S Navy with eight integrated submarine imaging systems on a $14.5 million contract modification.

The systems provide visual and electronic search, digital image management, and platform architecture interface capabilities for Navy submarines.

The company will deliver five systems for Virginia-class submarines and three for SSN 688-class submarines.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., and is expected to be completed in April 2013. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
