Lockheed to Engineer Design Modifications, Upgrades to Naval Combat System

Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) mission systems and sensors business has won a U.S. Navy contract modification to provide engineering services in support of integrated warfare systems.

The company will maintain and modify the DDG52-class combat system design on the $6, 986, 478 option.

Required DDG52 services include:

  • program management and operation support
  • ship design integration
  • fleet lifecycle engineering support
  • combat system test and evaluation
  • Navy-furnished material support

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Work is expected to be completed by September 2012.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.
