L-3 to Develop New Display Units for Army Apache Helicopters

L-3 Communications‘ (NYSE: LLL) display systems unit will develop a new 5-x-5-inch color active matrix liquid crystal display assembly for the U.S. Army’s AH-64D Apache helicopter.

The assemblies will be direct replacements for current monochromatic display unit. They will enhance the Apache’s target acquisition and night vision sensor display capabilities.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) contracted L-3 Communications for the work.
