Kratos to Provide R&D, Modeling of Advanced Weapons Concepts for Army

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (NASDAQ: KTOS) and the U.S. Army will research, develop, model and simulate advanced weapons concepts, computational fluid dynamics and aerodynamics heating.

The Army’s aviation and missile research development and engineering center awarded Kratos’ weapon systems solutions division a $23 million award to provide these capabilities and complete some final work.

Initial task orders have recently been let to Kratos under this award.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to demonstrate our extensive advanced technology capabilities, which will allow us to enhance the significant contributions AMRDEC provides to the warfighter, ” said William Dietz, vice president of Kratos’ DFSI advanced technology business unit.
