DRS Appoints Former Booz Allen Director of Security Engel as VP of Security Operations

DRS Technologies, Inc. has appointed Richard “Lee” Engel as vice president of its security operations.

Prior to joining DRS, Engel was director of security for Booz Allen Hamilton, where he managed security activities at the firm’s U.S. and worldwide locations.

Engel previously held defense, special access and intelligence security positions at BAE Systems, Allied Signal/Honeywell and SAIC.

A former Central Intelligence Agency employee, Engel has more than 30 years of industrial security experience and contributed to the development of the U.S. National Industrial Security Program.

“This appointment reflects DRS’ commitment to maintaining a best-in-class security program, ” said Mark A. Dorfman, DRS’ executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. “I have the utmost confidence in Lee’s ability to lead this critical function for DRS in furtherance of our mission to protect and support national security.”
