BAE Team to Adapt Amphibious Personnel Carrier for Marine Corps Program

BAE Systems has officially formed its team with Iveco Defence Vehicles to compete for contracts with the U.S. Marine Corps personnel carrier program.

Each company has signed a teaming agreement and technology cross licensing agreement. This allows the team to modify and adapt the Iveco SUPERAV 8×8 for the MPC program.

The Marine Corps designed the program to produce an amphibious, armored, wheeled and highly mobile personnel carrier within its ground combat element.

“This teaming agreement is particularly timely as we recently responded to the Marine Corps’ request for information for the MPC program, ” said Ann Hoholick, vice president and general manager of amphibious and new programs at BAE Systems. “Combining our expertise allows us to best address the requirements of the U.S. Marine Corps and its MPC program with an affordable amphibious platform that balances performance, capability and cost. We are well positioned to meet any current and future amphibious vehicle needs that our Marine Corps customer faces.”
