Army Places $500M Order to Support State Department Mission in Iraq

The U.S. Army Contracting Command has awarded a task order valued at over $500 million under its logistics civil augmentation program IV contract.

The order is for the execution of the program’s post-2011 base life support requirements for the State Department‘s mission in Iraq.

The order has a one-year base period and one option year. KBR (NYSE: KBR) won the award.

The company will provide support to U.S. Embassy staff in Baghdad and to diplomatic posts in Iraq.

Services will include fire fighting, air field operations, retail fuel and facilities and utilities management.
