Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) board of directors has elected company CEO and President Wes Bush as its chairman, effective immediately.
Bush has served on the board since 2009. At Northrop, he has been president and chief operating officer, corporate vice president and chief financial officer and president of the former space technology sector.
Bush’s predecessor Lewis W. Coleman will serve as the board’s lead independent director. He had been nonexecutive chairman since January 2010.
Coleman is president and CFO of DreamWorks Animation SKG.
“Wes Bush has the full support of the board and has made excellent progress improving the company’s performance for shareholders, customers and employees, ” Coleman said. “This is the right time for Wes to assume the chairmanship of Northrop Grumman.”
