Neustar Appoints Symantec’s Bregman as CTO; Hook Comments

Neustar Inc. (NYSE: NSR) has appointed Mark F. Bregman as chief technology officer, effective Aug. 2, 2011.

Bregman will be responsible for product technology strategy and product development efforts. He will report to Neustar President and CEO Lisa Hook.

Bregman has served as Symantec Corp.’s (NASDAQ: SYMC) EVP and CTO since 2006, where he oversaw R&D investment and developed technology strategy.

Previously, Bregman served as EVP of product operations at Veritas Corporation, which merged with Symantec in 2005. He also spent 16 years at IBM.

“As the world’s leading provider of network addressing, routing and policy management, Neustar is an attractive destination for today’s top technology talent, ” said Hook. “As Neustar continues to provide these critical services, along with cyber security and data analytics, to network operators, Internet companies, and media companies, having a CTO with Mark’s breadth of experience is a tremendous asset.”
