Lockheed Wins $8M Navy Ship Design Contract

The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors (NYSE: LMT), Moorestown, N.J., a $7, 680, 000 modification to a previously-awarded contract for management and engineering services.

Lockheed will maintain and modify the design of DDG 51-class combat system compartments and topside arrangements. The award supports an Integrated Warfare Systems program for executive officers.

Work is expected to be completed by September 2011.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
