Lockheed Wins $133M NASA Contract to Provide Hubble Engineering and Mission Services

NASA has awarded Lockheed Martin Space Systems Corporation (NYSE: LMT) a follow-on five-year cost-plus-award fee sole source contract worth $133, 070, 796 for mission operations, systems engineering and software for the Hubble Space Telescope.

Lockheed will continue to maintain Hubble’s health and safety through the next phase of its science mission. This effort will include all elements of operations other than science operations. It will also require systems engineering tasks required to maintain Hubble flight and ground systems.

Mission operations responsibilities include safe and efficient control and use of Hubble, maintenance and operation of its facilities and equipment and creation, maintenance and utilization of Hubble operations processes and procedures.

Critical systems engineering responsibilities include optimizing mission system capabilities to ensure Hubble operations are effective to continue scientific results.
