General Atomics Wins $25M Navy Contract to Improve Brake System and Tires of E-6B Fleet

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC, Kaysville, Utah, a $24, 966, 217 firm-fixed-price requirements contract.

General Atomics will design, implement, evaluate, test, kit and spare lighter brakes, wheels, radial tires and a brake temperature monitoring system for the E-6B fleet.

The contract was competitively procured via an electronic request for proposals, with two offers received. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Work is expected to be completed in September 2015. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
