Salesforce.com Reports First Quarter 2011 Results, Becomes First Enterprise Cloud Provider to Reach $2B Revenue Run Rate

Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) today announced financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended April 30, 2011. Total first quarter revenue was $504 million, an increase of 34 percent on a year-over-year basis. Subscription and support revenues were $474 million, an increase of 35 percent on a year-over-year basis. Professional services and other revenues were $31 million, an increase of 18 percent on a year-over-year basis. The company finished the quarter with a total of 97, 700 net paying customers.

“Salesforce.com has become the first enterprise cloud computing company to reach a $2.0 billion annual revenue run rate, ” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO. “We are delighted to see our revenue growth rate continue to accelerate.”

The company provided guidance for its full fiscal year 2012 of between approximately $2.15 billion and $2.17 billion.
