Juniper Networks Names Mercedes Johnson to Board of Directors; Scott Kriens Comments

IT firm Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) has named Mercedes Johnson, former senior vice president and chief financial officer of Avago Technologies Limited, to its board of directors.

Johnson, who has more than 20 years of financial leadership and corporate-management experience, was hailed by Juniper’s chairman of the board of directors, Scott Kriens.

“Mercedes’ wealth of expertise in financial and operational aspects of high-tech, global companies will be of great benefit to Juniper as we continue driving our multiyear growth strategy, ” he said. “We intend to leverage her track record of achievements to enhance the value of the company for our shareholders.”

Johnson, meanwhile, said she looked forward to helping drive the company’s growth. She called Juniper Networks “an innovator with a deep commitment to transforming the economics and experience of networking for its customers.”

Before joining Avago Technologies, Johnson served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Lam Research Corporation and has also held positions at Applied Materials, Nanometrics, NCR Corporation and HP.
