ITT Names Bob Edmonds VP of Air Force Relations; David F. Melcher Comments

ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) has named David K. (Bob) Edmonds vice president of Air Force relations for the firm’s Defense and Information Solutions segment, a role in which he will report to Mike Alvis, the division’s acting vice president of government relations.

Edmonds will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at the senior levels of the Defense Department, the U.S. Air Force and the air service staffs of U.S. allies. He will also interface on aviation matters with other federal agencies and be a focal point for coordinating with these customers. Additionally, he will be in charge of supporting long-range marketing strategy and business planning.

Prior to  joining ITT, Edmonds served as senior vice president of government operations and strategy at Syndetics. Prior to that role, he was an advisory director in the aerospace and defense practice of the global investment bank Lincoln International. Edmonds also serves as a senior military fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C.  He was a senior member of the aerospace, defense and aviation practice at Heidrick & Struggles International.

During his 28-year-long Air Force career, Edmonds was an F-15 pilot and became a brigadier general while leading 42 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. He also led the Air Force’s Senate Liaison Office after 9/11, handling congressional affairs with both the House and Senate. Earlier in his career, Edmonds was a White House fellow and now serves as president of the White House Fellowship Foundation and Association board.
