Harris Inks Deal with Asian Nation to Deliver Tactical Communications System

Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has received a $19 million order from an unnamed Asian nation for integrated tactical communications system for defense and humanitarian missions. The firm will be delivering and integrating Falcon III and Falcon II tactical radios and other equipment to deliver advanced situational awareness capabilities to forces at all levels.

The RF-7800S, a lightweight soldier system radio, offers full-duplex voice capability, allowing simultaneous communication with unlimited listeners over a range of more than two kilometers. It has a high-speed data connectivity up to 192Kbps, which makes it the fastest VHF combat net radio.

“Working closely with our customer, Harris is focused on delivering systems solutions that will provide deployed forces with networked high-speed voice and data connectivity at all times, ” said Andy Start, president of the international business unit at Harris RF Communications.
