Harris (NYSE: HRS) secured a contract from Boeing (NYSE: BA) Space and Intelligence Systems to provide Ka-band antennas for three Inmarsat-5 satellites.
The new satellite constellation will support a wireless broadband network called “Inmarsat Global Xpress.”
According to Harris, “the antennas will direct 95 Ka-band beams on the earth, enabling the constellation of three Inmarsat-5 satellites to provide high-capacity coverage of the entire globe, and to adapt to the ever-changing usage patterns over the projected 15-year operation of the satellites.”
