Cisco Names Gary Moore COO

Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) named Executive VP Gary Moore to the role of chief operating officer, a new position at the firm.

“Gary is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results. He is uniquely qualified to drive strategic prioritization and accountability within Cisco, with a laser-focus on operational excellence, ” CEO John Chambers said.  “I have tremendous confidence in Gary’s ability to align Cisco’s world-class innovation engine with industry-leading operational practices to drive and extend the next-generation of Cisco’s market leadership.”

Moore previously oversaw Cisco Services.  As COO, he will continue to report to Chambers.

In his new position, Chambers will head up the firm’s engineering, marketing, operations and services organizations.
