IAP Worldwide Lands Army Deal; Boeing, General Dynamics Grab 2 Each

According to the Department of Defense, “IAP Worldwide was awarded a $55, 557, 377 firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.  The award will provide for line haul transportation within Kuwait and Iraq.  Work will be performed in Kuwait and Iraq, with an estimated completion date of April 30, 2011.  Two bids were solicited with two bids received.  The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52P1J-11-D-0005).

“Boeing (NYSE: BA) was awarded a $50, 116, 093 firm-fixed-price contract.  The award will provide services and supplies in the overhaul, repair and recapitalization of the APACHE weapon system.  Work will be performed in Corpus Christi, Texas, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2011.  One bid was solicited with one bid received.  The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-10-D-0027).

“Boeing was awarded a $44, 869, 770 firm-fixed-price contract.  The award will provide services and supplies in the overhaul, repair and recapitalization of the CHINOOK weapon system.  Work will be performed in Corpus Christi, Texas, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2011.  One bid was solicited with one bid received.  The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-10-D-0027).

“General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) was awarded a $37, 134, 491 cost-no-fee contract.  The award will provide for materials and labor to convert 42 M1A2 tanks to a M1A2S configuration for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Work will be performed in Lima, Ohio, with an estimated completion date of Sep. 30, 2012.  One bid was solicited with one bid received.  The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC, Contracting Center, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-11-C-0005).

“General Dynamics was awarded a $31, 285, 070 cost-plus-fixed-fee and performance-based-incentive-funding contract Dec. 30, 2010.  The award will provide for supply-support-activity operations at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, for all serviceable and unserviceable U.S. equipment and classes of supply with the exception of Class I, Class IIIB, Class V, Class VI, Class VII, Class VIII and COMSEC controlled items and equipment.  Work will be performed in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 29, 2011.  The bid was solicited through the Internet with five bids received.  The U.S. Army Rock Island Contracting Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W52P1J-11-C-0019).”
