$486 Million Deal for Northrop Grumman; Raytheon Wins, Too

According to the Department of Defense, “Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) is being awarded a $486, 045, 178 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract (N00019-09-D-0025) for the procurement of up to 99 litening pods; and 241 upgrade kits and associated repair support for AV-8B (domestic and allied), F/A-18A+/C/D, EA-6B, A-10,   F-15, F-16, and B-52 aircraft.  Work will be performed in Rolling Meadows, Ill., and is expected to be completed in December 2012.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract combines purchases for the Navy ($257, 603, 944; 53 percent) and the Air Force ($228, 441, 234; 47 percent).  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

“Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) is being awarded a $45, 305, 013 firm-fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-5111) to exercise options for the production of two AN/SPY-1D(V) transmitter groups and two MK 99 Mod 8 fire control system for DDG 114 and DDG 115.  Work will be performed in Andover, Mass. (88 percent), and Sudbury, Mass. (12 percent), and is expected to be completed by April 2013.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.”
