Wednesday’s Featured Job: Web Content Strategist at TMG

TMG, based in Washington, D.C., and one of the country’s leading custom-media firms, is seeking a freelance/contract Web Content Strategist/Information Architect to support our web team.
Responsibilities Include
• Work with client and project team to define and understand the client’s business models and goals for the new website and help define its strategy, content, and features.
• Develop a content strategy for merging multiple web products into one cohesive website.
• Identify, analyze, and document Web content for migration to a new system
• Assess, catalogue, and organize web content including the creation of taxonomy and/or nomenclature lists
• Develop and design sitemap and wireframes
• Work with developer and design team to actualize wireframe concepts
• Work with developers to cross-tag content in a Drupal CMS
• Create a search optimization plan for content
• Create IA for mobile version of website
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Experience and Skills
• 2-3 years experience in online content strategy, particularly as an Information Architect or Web Content Manager
• Ability to develop user scenarios to better sort and display various types content
• Ability to create and edit prototypes and IA deliverables using one or more of the following applications: Omnigraffle, InDesign, Visio, and/or Microsoft Office
• Experience writing and editing content for the Web
• Knowledge of web standards, including w3c compliance, accessibility (section 508) and the SEO implications of information architecture
• Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of web technologies, including cross-browser compatibilities, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, PHP, Flash, Flex and mobile computing.
• Ability to clearly articulate to internal team as well as clients the reasoning behind usability choices and recommendations.
• The ideal candidate will also have work experience in providing content strategy recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and a basic familiarity with Drupal.
