Monday’s Featured Job: VP, Operations and Infrastructure at Deltek

Summary of Position: The Vice President of IT Operations & Infrastructure will own the IT O&I organization at Deltek, reporting directly into the CIO, who reports to the CEO. IT O&I scope includes traditional IT areas such as server operations, network and telecommunications, storage, security, data center, email, and video conferencing. As Deltek is an enterprise software company, IT O&I is also responsible for infrastructure environments needed to support Development, QA, Sales, Services, Training and Customer Care as they create, sell, implement, and support our software. Deltek has also recently entered into the hosted software / SaaS business, adding “Deltek software hosting operations” to the scope of IT O&I as well. This senior management / leadership position will be expected to build on the existing foundation to continuously improve IT’s ability to both deliver business solutions to Deltek and pragmatically manage risk. IT is viewed as a strategic asset to be used to deliver tangible business value, supporting both short and long term company objectives. The leader of IT O&I must be able to understand, communicate, and influence how technology can be used to help Deltek grow and prosper as a business. The leader needs to be able to balance: operational support of existing infrastructure; pragmatic continuous improvement of services / processes / infrastructure; longer-term strategic planning; and tactical/strategic realignment due to changing business needs / environment such as acquisitions.
