Raytheon Picks Up Quartet of Defense Deals

According to the Department of Defense, “Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) is being awarded a minimum $6, 984, 202 firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract for radio frequency exciters.  There are no other locations of performance.  Using service is Army.  There was originally one proposal solicited with one response.  The date of performance completion is Nov. 30, 2013.  The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (SPRRA2-10-C-0024).

“Raytheon is being awarded a $5, 832, 633 firm-fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-5303) for fiscal 2010 Standard Missile 2 common production spares.  Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by December 2012.  Contract funds in the amount of $5, 832, 633 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

“Raytheon is being awarded a $14, 696, 495 firm-fixed-price contract (N00024-10-C-6302) for seven airborne mine neutralization low rate initial production systems and associated engineering services.  The airborne mine neutralization system will explosively neutralize bottom and moored mines using an expendable mine neutralize device.  The system will be deployed from the MH-60 helicopter as part of the littoral combat ship mine countermeasures mission module.  This contract includes an option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $24, 376, 137.  Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R. I., and is expected to be completed by September 2014.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively awarded.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

“Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) was awarded a $12, 493, 899 contract modification, which will provide additional tasking to support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and Army experiments at Fort Benning, Ga., and will add the software radio waveform to the wireless network After Next radio.  At this time, $2, 585, 714 has been obligated.  Air Force Research Laboratory/RIKF, Rome, N.Y., is the contracting activity (FA8750-07-C-0169; PO0013).”
