Boeing Touts Tanker’s Benefits for New York

Boeing (NYSE: BA) reports the state of New York would see about 580 total jobs and generate an estimated $30 million in annual economic impact if the Boeing NewGen Tanker is selected by the U.S. Air Force in the fall.

Boeing submitted its proposal July to replace 179 of the Air Force’s 400 Eisenhower-era KC-135 aircraft. The Air Force is expected to award a contract in November.  Boeing is competing with EADS for the $35 billion deal.

“Boeing’s New York workers are among the most talented anywhere in the world, which is why we’re honored to have them as members of the NewGen Tanker team, ” said Mark DeVoss, Supplier Management director, Boeing Tanker Programs. “Together with tens of thousands of Boeing employees across America, New York workers will provide the U.S. Air Force with the most capable, survivable, combat-ready tanker aircraft at the lowest cost to the American taxpayer.”
