SAIC Signs Deal to Support NASA’s Goddard Center

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a subcontract by Primus Solutions, Inc. to provide the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) with IT services. The five-year subcontract worth more than $80 million.

According to SAIC, “NASA’s GSFC is home to the nation’s largest organization of scientists, engineers and technologists, and is a major U.S. laboratory for developing and operating unmanned scientific spacecraft. The center facilitates the scientific investigation, development and operation of space systems and related technologies. Under the subcontract, SAIC will provide IT services including enhanced help desk and datacenter support, as well as support for financial management systems, application development and database administration.”

“We look forward to providing quality IT services to GSFC that will help streamline and reduce the cost of ongoing operations, enhance help desk capabilities, and implement data center virtualization and consolidation, ” said Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
