SAIC Boss Walt Havenstein Named Chairman of FIRST

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) CEO Walt Havenstein has been elected as chairman of the board of directors for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a not-for-profit organization seeking to “inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.”

Havenstein has served as a member of the FIRST Board of Directors since 2006.

“Walt brings such a wealth of knowledge to our organization, ” said Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST and CEO of DEKA Research and Development. “I am looking forward to benefiting from the wisdom and experience that Walt adds to our team of directors and I am excited to see what great things will happen for FIRST and the community under Walt’s leadership.”
