Lockheed to Work Under Boeing on FAA’s NextGen

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Boeing (NYSE:BA) will work together  to support task orders from the FAA’s NextGen initiative, a 10-year, multi-billion dollar contract vehicle “to further next generation air transportation advancements.”

According to Lockheed Martin, “As part of the Boeing-led team, Lockheed Martin’s air traffic management business will compete for future en route, terminal and oceanic air traffic control and systems engineering task orders under the FAA’s Systems Engineering 2020 (SE2020) contracting vehicle.”

“The SE2020 contract vehicle is a significant boost to the industry’s NextGen momentum. It will help accelerate the development of new technologies benefiting all aviation stakeholders, ” said Sandra Samuel, vice president, Lockheed Martin Transportation Solutions. “As one of the industry’s strongest engineering and systems infrastructure providers, we look forward to adding our air traffic management domain expertise to this endeavor.”
