ACS: A Xerox Company’s Joe Doherty on Outsourcing Excellence Award Win

ACS: A Xerox Company (NYSE: XRX) and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) have received the prestigious Outsourcing Excellence Award for a partnership that has improved services and lowered costs by delivering state benefits and payments to citizens using a debit card.

Electronic payment technology is also used by OKDHS to deliver benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as the federal Food Stamp program), and to provide authorizations recipients of state child care subsidies. In a program that was the first-of-its-kind, recipients swipe a magnetic-stripe card through a terminal at the child care facility to verify the time spent by children at day care, increasing the accuracy and the speed of state payments made to care providers.

“This award is an example of what can result when a team is fully committed to citizen service, ” said Joseph Doherty, executive vice president and group president, ACS Government Solutions. “We are proud to contribute to the efforts of OKDHS in improving the lives of its citizens.”
