ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq: MANT) announced that The Fishing School, the nationally-recognized youth development organization in Washington, D.C. that has been supported by CharityWorks and ManTech, will be featured on the ABC-TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, on February 14, 8 pm ET. The segment describes the rebuilding of The Fishing School, which involved dozens of workers and thousands of volunteers, including celebrity guest Tyler Perry.
“Several years ago, my wife Marilyn and I met an unbelievable man, Tom Lewis. A retired police officer, Tom founded this youth development organization with $2, 100 in a former crack house in one of the worst neighborhoods in D.C. We are delighted to have supported The Fishing School and to have partnered with Tom over the last 20 years, ” said George J. Pedersen, chairman and CEO of ManTech.
“This new building is truly a blessing and we will use it to continue to be of service to this city’s youth and their parents, ” said Lewis.
Since 1990 their programs have helped more than 2, 500 students.
