Former acting Surgeon General, Steven Galson, M.D., M.P.H., has joined SAIC as Senior Vice President for Civilian Health Operations, part of the Health Solutions Business Unit. Galson will be responsible for managing the long term growth strategy, develop new solutions and lead the civilian health team forward. Galson will report to Anthony Hess, Ph.D., SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
“Steven is a well known and highly respected member of the international healthcare communityHis knowledge and vast public health and health science expertise will be of tremendous benefit to our customers. We are excited to have Steven join the Health Solutions leadership team, ” said Hess.
Prior to joining SAIC, Galson served as the Acting Surgeon General, the Acting Assistant Secretary of Health, and the Director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Galson also held executive positions in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
