Serco Grabs $50M DOT Contract

Serco has been awarded a contract from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to provide “comprehensive management, installation, and maintenance of the department’s intelligent transportation system.”  Serco will be counted on to maintain over 2, 500 Intelligent Transportation devices and Emergency Responders in the Atlanta metro area.  The five-year deal has an expected value of $50 million.

“This is an innovative performance management contract and the first to be issued by GDOT’s Operations department.  We look forward to deploying this innovative contracting model with Serco, ” said Keith Golden, Director of Operations at GDOT.

Serco is set to manage the camera systems, video and presence detection systems, ramp metering systems, changeable message signs & structures, and the maintenance of hub buildings which house and protect the backbone devices of the entire system.

“The services GDOT provides throughout the State of Georgia are mission critical and Serco is honored to serve the traveling public, ” said Keith Hulbert, VP of Infrastructure & Transportation Services for Serco.
