Harris Completes Implementation Review

Harris Corporation has completed the Preliminary Implementation Review for the U.S. Army’s Modernization of Enterprise Terminals (MET).  MET is comprised of next-generation military satellite communications terminals providing the global structure for high-priority military communications and missile defense systems. With the review complete, the project moves into the critical design phase.

“This is an important milestone for the MET program, as it establishes a common understanding of the system architecture and ensures that all technical, program and supportability requirements have been properly allocated and accounted for, ” said Wes Covell, president of Harris Defense Programs. “Completion of the review successfully concludes the preliminary design phase of the MET program and enables Harris and Team DCATS to move forward jointly into the critical design phase.”

In conjunction with the Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS or “Team DCATS”), Harris undertook a thorough review of all facets of the preliminary design and life cycle support. DCATS is an organization under the Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems, which is focused on enterprise-wide network solutions that help to ensure information dominance for the Army.
