Breaking- New McAfee Report: Many Major IT Networks Attacked

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has produced a new study in conjunction with current and former DHS officials, senior congressional staff and executives from critical industries to launch the “unique new report” commissioned by computer security specialists McAfee, Inc.

The CSIS team was led by former senior homeland security official Stewart Baker and national security reporter Shaun Waterman.

The report is the product of data from a survey of 600 IT and security executives in enterprises that own and operate critical infrastructure in different countries across the world. The survey data gathered brings into focus “the way those charged with the defense of critical IT networks are responding to cyber-attacks, attempting to secure their systems and working with governments.”

According to CSIS: “The executives surveyed report that their IT networks are subject to repeated cyber-attacks, often by high-level adversaries such as nation-states, organized crime gangs or terror groups. The impact of such attacks is often severe, and their cost is high and borne widely.

The report “In the Crossfire: Critical Infrastructure in the Age of Cyber War, ” will be launched by McAfee at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and by CSIS in Washington DC.
