BAE Systems has won a $185.3 million contract from the U.S. Navy for development of a new Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP).
“BAE Systems has been lead developer and integrator for munitions, including the 155mm LRLAP, for the U.S. Navy DDG 1000 program, ” said Jim Schoppenhorst, vice president and general manager of Armament Systems for BAE Systems. “The 155mm LRLAP provides the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps with a premiere naval surface fire support land attack capability.”
The 155mm LRLAP is designed to function in all weather and has proved successful from ranges exceeding 60 nautical miles.
