FAA Awards Tetra Tech Navigational Technical Assistance Contract

Today, the FAA announced  that Tetra Tech will be awarded the $200 million Navigational Technical Assistance Contract. The contract includes the technical support for the planning, development, implementation and sustainability of the FAA’s lighting, landing and navigation systems.

“The U.S. commercial aviation industry is expected to carry one billion passengers annually by 2021, ” said Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO Dan Batrack. “As the number of passengers continues to grow, the FAA faces an increasingly complex challenge in making flight safe, efficient, and cost-effective. Tetra Tech is pleased to support the FAA under the NAVTAC and other contract vehicles.”

TetraTech will also help support other FAA modernization initiatives including the Next Generation Air Transportation System known as NextGen.  As the number of air passengers continues to grow the FAA will start initiate more technology improvements and changes.
