The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded Unisys a contract to provide to enhance, maintain and operate the USDA Rural Development Guaranteed Loan System (GLS) and Guaranteed Underwriting Systems (GUS). The five year (one base year with four one year options) contract worth $25 million will aid the process of processing billions in loans for businesses and individuals in rural parts of the US.
Under the contract, Unisys will continue to operate the GLS and GUS. Robert Bratt, managing partner for civilian agencies for Unisys Federal Systems, said “The GLS contract expands Unisys long-standing relationship with the USDA. We look forward to continuing our partnership with USDA Rural Development — delivering enhancements to the GLS that will support the agency’s e-government initiatives and enable it to effectively and rapidly process and report on loans disbursed using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding.”
