Contract Award- Lockheed Martin- $14.75 Million – Navy

The US Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to provide integration for digital messaging for MH-60R helicopters. The contract, worth $14.75 million, will improve the flow of information sent between anti-submarine helicopters and ships in the fleet.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will develop software for the integration of digital messaging using the Ku band tactical data link. George Barton, Lockheed Martin’s directo of Naval Helicopter Programs at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, said “The SAU 07000 interface establishes point-to-point Internet-equivalent connectivity between the MH-60R and the ship, enabling both to publish and subscribe for information. With the enhanced interaction between the air and ship, the host ship can take fuller advantage of the Ku band pipeline’s capability, thereby giving the strike group commander greater situational awareness in the area of operation.”
