Cisco Completes Acquisition of Starent Networks

Earlier this month, Cisco announced the completion of its acquisition of Starent Networks, an Internet Protocol (IP) based mobile infrastructure solutions provider, for a total of approximately $2.9 billion. Under the agreement, Cisco paid $35 per share in cash for each share of Starent Networks.

Starent Networks will become part of Cisco’s Mobile Internet Technology Group within the Service Provider Group (SPG) with Ashraf Dahod, former president and CEO of Starent Networks, becoming SVP and general manager of this new group, reporting to Pankaj Patel, SVP and general manager of SPG.
