Boeing aids environmental education in California

Boeing announced that they have provided $1 million in aid to environmental education programs in southern California in 2009. Recently, Boeing gave $250, 000 to California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.

James Herr, senior manager for the California Region with Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship, said “In Southern California, we look to support environmental programs that have a partnership with schools and provide a strong educational component for students that focuses on protection, restoration and conservation. Despite hard economic times, Boeing remains steadfast in its support of environmental issues in the area. By supporting the jobs associated with environmental education and conservation efforts, we have a positive impact on the local economy as well as our natural resources.”
