SAIC Wins Contract to support US Navy

The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center has awarded SAIC a contract to provide support to the U.S. Navy’s Chief Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) for Medical Research and Development. The contract, worth $20 million, includes a base year with four one year options and work will predominately be performed at the Naval Health Research Center and at other BUMED facilities.

Under the contract, SAIC will carry out research on biomedical, clinical and epidemiological issues in support of Navy and Marine Corps personnel. SAIC will also provide medical simulation and modeling, AIDS prevention, provide psychological heath services and research on environmental health.

Anthony Hess, SVP and business unit general manager at SAIC, said “For more than 20 years, SAIC has worked with the Navy to enhance the health and medical readiness of our military personnel. We look forward to continuing our support of BUMED and this important mission.”
