Contract Award- Lockheed Martin – $32.3 Million – Marine Corps

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a contract to refit over 50 US Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle Command and Control vehicles. The contract, worth up to $32.3 million, has an initial provision for 30 vehicles to be retrofitted with C2 capabilities, with an additional provision for a further 22 more.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will retrofit current Light Armored Vehicle Command and Control vehicles with C2 equipment that will include radio systems, automated command systems and workstations. The contract is an add-on to an original contract secured by Lockheed Martin in 2006 to provide Light Armored Vehicle Command and Control vehicle prototypes.

The first set of retrofits are scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2010.
